Pertinent technical details or techniques:

I got this shot of one of our illusive neighborhood Northern Flickers and I liked the pic however it had a distracting branch crossing behind it so I replaced the background with another shot I took imitating the bokeh of the more distant background of my original. I isolated the bird using Topaz ReMask 5 to lay it on top of my new more desirable background look. D500, 2-500mm Nikon lens, 1.4 TC, hand held, 1/800th, f 8.0, 700mm, ISO 3600, AI Clear, and ReMask 5.

Nice job on the new background. I like the pose and the light shining on the Flicker. Also like the perch with the texture and colors.

Excellent job replacing the background, Dave. I don’t see any trace of the replacement along the edges of the foreground. The light is really nice and I like the pose of the flicker.
