Wow! This is a great capture of a very interesting subject! You really isolate the interesting part of the image with your focus point and low depth of field. I have a couple very minor suggestions. First, I would want to darken slightly the white tube that shows up near his hind leg. It tends to distract from the main subject. Second, I would suggestion you remove the with spot that is shaped like a hair on this tongue. These are very minor suggestions as this is a really nice image.
Fantastic, @Dave_Dillahunt. I love the amazing colors creatures have for the most mundane of functions. I’m thinking maybe this is a kind of evolutionary camouflage to make the lizard look like a flower while it’s vulnerable, busy clearing its eyes.
And, yes, I now want purple windshield wipers.

Great timing! The shape of the tongue is so easy to see and I was surprised at what looks to be a little bifurcation at the tip. Sweet. Is the color really lilac? I’ve never seen one of these little lizards, so have no idea. What a treat to see. Agree with Alexander’s ideas on cloning some of the bright bits. A slice off the right might be good, too.

What a beautiful and unusual image Dave. Never seen such a delightful being. Colours and composition are great. I like the sharpness of the head and everything else blurred. Wonderful submission.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I took a series of photos and it is interesting to see the progression from one eye to the next.
