Great composition, Sandy, and I like the mid-hop pose. No nits at all.

A really fine image Sandy with wonderful composition. I think it would be a little better if you got rid of the out of focus leaves in the upper right corner. The other thing I could see would be a little more detail in the black plumage. But I really like the plant and the complementary background.

Nice DOF… Freaky looking bird and a cool pose for me.
Very nice, would not change a thing.

Wow! The timing with the hop is remarkable. And with all that foliage close at hand, and no interference? Hard to believe it’s real.

Hi Sandy,

Nice timing on getting this pose. This one reminds me of a nuthatch hopping along a branch. I have no nits–Well done…Jim

Bill, this is why I take bursts of every single bird. You can sometimes catch things like hops or wing-position at the perfect split-second. It’s hard to have to go through several almost-alike images with every single shot, but well worth it if you can get something like this.
Sandy

Great setting with the background and foliage that frames the bird. Great “pose” and detail, especially considering it was moving.
