Nineteenth century romanticism + RP

A revision thanks to @patrick6 – I think it’s an improvement.

And FWIW, the original capture:

Description

An oldie, from 2011. A regular digital capture that had some appeal but I decided to give it a little more, with Corel Painter’s clone painting mode. The “paint” is picked up from the BG image and dragged out by an endless combination of brushes. Wonderful to play with, until the company died – or committed suicide.

I really like the painterly effect on this flower. Though, I think the upper right corner is distracting and pulls away from the subject. But I do keep getting drawn back to the main flower since it’s so captivating.

Thanks, @patrick6! A good point and I agree. I’ve posted a revision above with that corner darkened more (it was darkened a little already) and the flower center there lightened – but maybe still not enough? I hate to crop because I love the light squiggle below it. I have no idea where it came from as I was brushing around with abandon but as soon as I saw it I stayed away from that area.

Yes, this helps. And your reason for not cropping is why I didn’t suggest it either. I do think this darker corner helps. And it adds more “painting brush strokes” to the image. And thanks for posting the original. I thought you might have used a lot of bushing to get the look you did, but that is actually the way the flower is. Nice way to accentuate what was already there.
