Now That I Have Your Attention

Image Description

When I was photographing this eagle, I couldn’t help thinking at the time this was one serious guy. I think that converting this to a black and white image really emphasizes his mood at the time while eliminating any possible distractions color could have made.

This majestic bird certainly has an intimidating stare. I prefer bnw wildlife for the very reason you have cited. I also thinks it conveys the strength and size of the eagle.

Definitely a fantastic portrait in black and white. The serious expression, the tight composition (kind of like a bust of an important person). I’m trying to avoid any political commentary here, though it is difficult with a species so iconic to the United States. Nonetheless, this guy means business, for better or worse.

This really works well, Robert. That typical eagle stare and the head-on pose are great and the B&W does eliminate any distractions from the background.

I love the title you gave this eagle image - made me chuckle. Now I really want to hear what he says…I think I should be scared! Beautifully done Robert.

Striking shot! Love the focus (yours and the bird’s). But I was bothered that it didn’t look maximally exposed – it seemed that the whites weren’t white enough. I wasn’t sure I was correct, so I took it to LR and that was the case, so I tried adjusting the white point of the tone curve. What do you think?

Thank you, Cathy. Your version has its appeals. Bob Engle
