Very nice head shot of the eagle and black and white works well, Dave. I like the action implied by the open mouth. I’d be tempted to remove the bright grass blades (?) in front and above the eagle.
A very nice capture and the B/W treatment looks both good and appropriate to the fierce subject. I think you have an option for quite a bit of crop from the left to balance the visual weight better.

Dave, the pose is very dramatic and the high contrast lets the eagle’s head stand out. You could crop from the left to just past tallest stick(??).
I love the expression in the eagle’s eyes and the details of the open beak. Great composition and edit.
