I like the colorful background. Too much color? Cropping okay?

Hi Dave, I like the cropping in this image and the diagonal perch is nice. I could see taking down the saturation in the BG a tad. The bird being angled away from us is not ideal but this is still a fine catch.

Great image, Dave. I like the pose with the head turn. I agree that the background could be desaturated a bit. Nice shot.

Love the perch, Dave. The bright background doesn’t bother me. I love that perch branch-tons of character. To my eye it looks like the focus locked onto the side of the titmouse-are you using the eye AF function? It can get fooled, but I don’t see anything in this image that would be likely to do so.

I am. I guess it got confused.

I like the background and the perch is interesting and the bird brings it all together. Nice one.

Comp is fine and will be improved with a slight desaturation in the BG. The focus was not locked on the eye and that happens sometimes with twitchy little birds. I would also reduce the strength of the shadows to bring out more detail in the perch. The perch has a lot of texture that needs to be brought up into better view. A very nice shot and Happy Thanksgiving…Jim
