Description
Lon and I were wandering around one of favorite spots a few miles East of Sonora Pass a few years ago. I liked this cascade in the granite gorge topped off with the flowers (coreopsis, I believe).
After I made a few images here, it was nice just sit on a rock on this quiet, Sierra afternoon.

Specific Feedback
Does this work for you, or is it too pedestrian? Any thoughts you may have will be appreciated.
I had a challenge with the tonality of the foreground rock and the light-toned rock above the cascade. Do those spots need more work, or are they OK?
I did crop this from the top since there was massive granite that overwhelmed the scene.

Preston: Not pedestrian for me. I love your treatment of the water and the inclusion of the flowers is icing on the cake. To see something so soft and delicate in the midst of the hard rock is a delight. Makes me want to be there, take off my boots and dangle my feet in the stream. >=))>
Pedestrian? Not for me. I am fascinated with water. You could leave your camera on a tripod here and set the intervalometer to keep taking shots for an hour and no two shots would be the same. This has a nice flow to it and I love the flowers at the top. Regarding the tonalities of the rocks, the last thing I enjoy doing is sitting at the computer desk, so you’ll have to get advice about that elsewhere. Looks good to me.
Not pedestrian at all. I love the texture in the granite and the perfect choice of shutter speed. The touch of color with the flowers and the moss are great. A nice photo to look at.
Another vote for not pedestrian. I can see why you were drawn to this particular spot as it is quite lovely. Your chosen SS looks great; perfect for my tastes; and I am enjoying the textures in the granite boulders. All that goodness topped off with those wonderful flowers along the top edge. I wouldn’t mind seeing just a touch more room on the left for the water flow, but it definitely is not a deal breaker. This is a peaceful serene image and very nicely done.
Another vote for definitely not pedestrian. I don’t think the rock you referred to above the cascade in a problem, but I could see toning it warmer to match the two closer ones.
I think you have a twofer here, especially if you want to go for more drama, with a closer crop on the lovely cascade.
The crop that @Diane_Miller posted is interesting as it completely changes the dynamic of the scene. That said, I still prefer my original framing. I like idea of warming up that upper bit of granite.
