One more Silhouette

Shot the same day as my previous post. All C&C welcome. I’m sorry, but I don’t have time to comment on other’s photos right now because my wife and I are headed out of town. I will comment when I have a little time to do so.

My first reaction was that I’d lose the trees. So I slid them out of view and instead found that I like how you composed it. The trees add some context.

Great pose, Lyle. I’ve been going back and forth over the trees, but on balance, I do think they add something. I like the light on the water.

I like where you have positioned the cormorant and also its drying pose, Lyle. I find the background trees somewhat distracting as they are the same color as the subject, but not in focus. I might try recomposing without just the dark line at the top. Also if you drop the exposure on the subject - specifically the perch - a little bit more, I think it will make the image more dramatic. As it is I can see some details on it.
