Pertinent technical details or techniques:
I observed this male (I think) Osprey defending its female occupied nest against a half dozen Turkey Vultures were cruising too close to the nest. He was very acrobatic, and fun to watch. I was unsuccessful getting any confrontational shots but here’s a shot I got during the 5 minute show. D500, Nikon 200-500 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, hand held, 1/2000th, f 8.0, 550mm, ISO 560, AI Clear, cropped to 3291 x 2339

Excellent shot of the Osprey, Dave. I like the light in the eye and the wing position. I do think the title is a bit misleading. Image quality looks very good.
This is pretty nice. I like that the eye is lit, and the IQ is pretty good. Background could be more interesting, and I’d prefer the sun to be a bit lower in the sky so that the entire bird is lit. I can see some noise in the bird, presumably from raising the shadows.
