Owl Eyes

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This is from the archives, 2013. I’ve been super busy this week but had to go looking for at least one for eyes, and what better place to look than in the owls. This was a captive specimen, in our local bird rescue center.

Hastily grabbed – full frame as as shot, into PS for Topaz Denoise with default sharpening of Low Light method. Lowered contrast with a gradient adj at the bottom. That’s it. Probably a tripod.

What a nice pose you captured Diane and love the partially opened beak, as if he’s getting ready to reply to a question, lol. Nice detail in the feathers and that eye is just mesmerizing. Great BG too; he stands out nicely and the color complements.

Thanks, @Jim_Lockhart – I love owls – there is just something so special about them!!
