The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This was the last image of the morning’s shoot. I was exhausted from all the walking and the tide was coming up. But when I saw this scene I had to give it a try. The light is so wonderful along the Washington coast. I hear some people eat these things. 10 points if you see the crab.
Specific Feedback
Does the green leaf bother you? What about the speck in the bottom right corner?

Igor,
The composition is wonderful and leads the eye throughout the frame. I love the random chaotic-ness of all the periwinkles and the variety of stones as the eye moves up through the scene. I want to see this printed really big. The leaf and speck do seem out of place, but whether in or not, it is still a great photo.
Igor, I had to go large to see what your subject really was. Then, the “berries” became snails (aka escargot). The crab (nearly centered and 1/4 down from the top) is a great extra bit (in software, this would be called a “cookie”.) It also adds to the story of the location. I could see cropping a bit off the top as the seaweed up there is quite dark and busy.
Love me some Periwinkles! I’d go so far as to call this an invasion! Actually, the ones I’m most familiar with are no longer moving. This is a terrific nature story.
I would agree with Mark on a crop - perhaps as far as to remove the medium blueish stone top middle. As far as the green leaf, it certainly looks and feels out of place. I would either desaturate quite a bit, or just remove. No this spot on the beach is close to the forest edge and so it’s of course possible to get a green leaf like this… but still it’s minorly distracting. Less so the spec in the LRC. And as Youssef mentions, this is still a great photo as presented.
I had thought of cropping down that far and reconsidered it. I decided it’s a good destination once you look through the ‘gate’. Otherwise the background becomes uneventful. Also, such a crop would create a bad aspect ration since this has a front-to-back composition. However, if anyone wants to make a crop and show its merit that would be helpful.
I agree. Here is the changed version with the leaves removed.
