The lighting was not perfect for this shot but the rarity of the subjects kinda balances it out for me. These leucistic Black-tails are hanging out in our neighborhood and they are endlessly fun to hunt, and shoot (with a camera). D500, Nikon 1.4 TC, Nikon 200-500 lens, hand held, 1/1000th, f 8.0, 300mm, ISO 1250, AI Clear, cropped to 4727 x 3340

Such a wonderful treat to be able to observe these precious animals. Dave. I’ve only seen one once and certainly not long enough to get a photo. Thanks for sharing the moment with us.

Yes I agree, the rarity of subject calls for this capture. Whenever we have bright spotlights behind the subject, it’s a problem, but you may burn the bright grasses here and it would look much better. :grinning:
