Poult

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

We recently had some turkeys come thru out back and amongst the flock were several poults. This one was about the size of a chicken. I had never seen a juvenile this size. At this stage it could as well have been an African buzzard from its looks.

Specific Feedback

Any. Cropping? Exposure?

Wow interesting…I’ve never seen a young turkey look like this either. The feathers and head pose look good to me with the bird looking back at us. A good view of this stage of life. I could see bringing down the bright areas on the ground in front of the bird. Interesting image - TFS.

Hi Dave,

Isn’t it amazing how many wild turkeys hang out now in practically every kind of habitat! Even where I live in the Sonoran Desert, the adjacent mini mountain range (called a “sky island”) is loaded with them.

We sure do have a lot of them here. They’re not hunted.
