Jim, this speaks well to sitting quietly beside a pond on a warm day.

I took a peek at your images here on NPN and had to chuckle. You weren’t kidding; it looks like 110 total and this is the first in Landscape? Regardless, glad to see you here!

I find reflection images compelling, and I like the idea you’re running with here. The trees and clouds are a nice mixture, andthe ripples provide just a touch of abstract and emphasize that this is a reflection (and not an upside down image).

Three thoughts on what might be good to play with. The empty area at the bottom doesn’t bring a lo to the table, and I’d consider cropping some of it. The small white spots are a bit distracting, and I’d consider removing those too. Finally, you might play with shifting the color balance a little more blue to see if you like it or not.

@Mark_Seaver and @John_Williams , thanks so much for your comments. I am going to follow through on your suggestions John. It’s great to have a fresh set of eyes reveal improvements that I hadn’t seen.

Really like all the little changes which add up to a big improvement in the image.

Hi Jim,
Welcome to the Landscape Critiques forum! @John_Williams has given you some excellent suggestions and your rework is definitely headed in the right direction. I think you could still push the yellow slider a little more to the blue as the image still looks a bit yellow. This is a very relaxing scene; you should try your hand at landscapes a little more.

Thank you @Ed_Lowe for your encouraging and helpful comments, I will try to bring a little more blue into the image. I would be remiss in not thanking you and @John_Williams for serving as new landscape moderators and look forward to getting landscape advice in the future.
