Rebar bush

Maybe this picture goes in non-nature? I thought to put in landscape, but I put it here and hope that fits. The Leslie Spit in Toronto is a wild landscape, but thoroughly human made. A spit that of concrete fill that in the early years was filled with rebar. Today it gets cleaner fill. Slowly regenerating over the years it is now an important stop for migrating birds, local wildlife and playing a key role in the regeneration of the Toronto harbour. But the rebar and bricks twisted and weathered by time create a unique landscape. I liked here how they echoed the red bushes found elsewhere (note bottom left).

All comments welcomed. I will spend more time framing next time I go out…I think it could have a tad more foreground.

Hi Charles. This is a really cool image. I think you’re right about a bit more foreground. It also feels a bit tight on the sides to me, but I don’t know what you had to deal with outside the frame.

I’m moving this to non-nature as this forum is for images of animals, either domesticated or in an obviously human made setting.

Thank you! I will ensure I put future post in non-nature

I like how the glow above the horizon balances this composition - agree with @Dennis_Plank about a bit more snowy FG if possible.

This is so cool, Charles. It reminds me of a nest…I guess a nest for a rebar bird. :grinning:

I really like the background as an offset to the rebar. Well done.

Thank you glad you liked it - it’s a cool place

Thank you Mike - working on more deliberate framing
