HI Trevor
You are certainly up close and personal with I believe is a Sandhill Crane. The detail, coloring and eye contact are right on. Were was the photo taken and how did you get that close to this Crane??
Peter
I really like the unusual format of this crane portrait, Trevor. The detail is fantastic where it counts. You might think about trimming a bit off the sides as I’m not seeing that space adding much to the image, though the tones do match the eye nicely. The one technical issue I see is that the whites on the sunny side of the head look like they’re completely blown out with no detail. With this composition, that kind of works, but I think the image would have even more impact if there were a bit of detail there.
