The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I took a photography tour in Alaska where we went to a lake and watched the bears catching salmon. The salmon have swam up the river to this lake and are spawning. Being in a boat and having overcast days made for high ISO’s to get the faster shutter speeds. I am not sure if the photo captures the excitement of watching this.
I have edited for noise, lightened the exposure and cropped.
Specific Feedback
Does it capture the moment?
Technical Details
This was shot at 1/1250 shutter speed, 3200 ISO, and F6.3. 600MM

Use of the template is optional, but it can help spark ideas.
Hi Phil - this is a great action shot ! The intent look on the bear’s face is priceless., although he seems to be missing the salmon.
The image is quite bright; the brightness slider should help. Some places on thr bright bank and water may still need to be burned down further.
If you hve room, more canvas on the bottom and less on the top would balance this image a bit better.
Really nice shot here! great catch!
I darkened the whole picture and then did a linear gradient on the background and darkened that more. This really makes the bear stand out. I would share it but not sure how to do that.
When receiving critique, it’s good practice to implement the changes and post a revised version in the original topic.
Edit your original topic instead of replying. This allows you to flip between the original and revised versions in the lightbox.
Click the pencil icon at the bottom of your original topic to edit and upload your revised version. Add “(+repost)” to the title to indicate a revision. Click ‘Save Edit’ when finished.
Add the revised version at the top of the post to update the thumbnail.
To do this, click the download icon, and enter your revised edition at the very top of the original post.
Yes! Much better! Now, it’s great!
If you “edit” the TITLE LINE using the pencil icon, and add “+ re-post” people will know there is an update.
And if you put the edit at the top instead of in a reply, people can switch back and forth easily to compare. Lots of steps, but worth it.
To do this, use the pencil icon at the BOTTOM of your post, then insert the new download at the very top rather thn below the original image.
This way, the updated version will show first.
I’m not very good at explaining things, so hopefully this makes sense!
