Ripples of light

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was initially drawn to the reflection of the lights when capturing this image, I also was glad that I the scene had strong color contrast of complementary colors. As I was refining the composition I decided to include the pole, because it added another element of texture and contrast.

This is beautiful Drishti. The light on the water looks dazzling and electric. I really like the deep blues and gold tones that are so complementary.

Very cool, Drishti - the strong colours complement each other perfectly, and the comp is ideal. Marvelous patterns, too.
Great catch!

Thank you Ed! I really appreciate the kind words

Thank you Sandy! The colors and patterns are exactly what drew me to this composition.

Your photo keeps snagging my attention when I scroll the latest posts. Such great complementary colors and intriguing shapes. Those random squiggles are something. Quite energetic in their way. I wonder if toning down the piling might help keep our eyes on them a bit more. Either way, it’s a striking shot and well put together.

Drishti, this photo is fantastic! I love everything about this image. The colors against the black background are very striking. The gold squiggles have so much visual weight they keep my eyes focused there. I don’t have any suggestions.

Very well done!
