Saguaro texture

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Parts of older saguaro cacti begin to decay even when there’s a lot of life left in the plant. The resulting textures are intriguing. I came upon this one while hiking.

Technical Details

I was using an heirloom lens that doesn’t record EXIF data.

Very neat, Don. I was thinking some kind of spiky seed on a rock formation. This would make a wonderful post in Abstract as well. Wonderful shapes and lines.

I considered the abstract section, Dennis, but I thought the thorns made it too recognizable to qualify. Thanks for the comments.

Unusual, unique, interesting and very cool!! Looks like a target-rich environment!

Don: Intriguing image. Even with the thorns there is still a lot of mystery about what this is. Really nice conversion as well although I am curious regarding the colors present. Well seen, composed, captured and presented. :+1: :+1:>=))>

Thanks, Bill. Here are the colors.
