I am headed out tomorrow morning for a business trip to Las Cruces, NM. Aside from White Sands National Park, I am looking for suggestions for locations for night and landscape photography. Unfortunately, the moon cycle does not lend itself to Milky Way photography next week. I will be working at the White Sand Missile Range and will have access (and time) to drive to a desireable location.
Lots of great places in New Mexico. I don’t do much landscape photography myself, but I do like the area near Rodeo on the border with Arizona. The Chiricahua mountains are just to the west across the desert and make an interesting morning composition. For night photography, the area around the Very Large Array Radiotelescope facility west of Socorro is really cool and the dishes make for an interesting foreground.
