Short-eared Owl

Description: Photo was taken a couple days ago. I did get a bit closer and got more poses. I liked this pose . I also liked having the full length of the driftwood perch in the frame.

R5, 500mm plus 1.4 Ext., f/5.6, 1/1000, ISO 3200, tripod. Photo was cropped to 59% of full frame and then a pano crop. I removed and toned down a few bits of vegetation.

This is very cool, David. I really like the pose and the overall composition, while a bit unconventional works well with the subject and perch, though you could crop some off the right and I think it would still work well-all a matter of how you want to use the image.

You’ve been getting some great images lately.

I like it, a nice habitat image with a nice perch.

Hello, David, this image is fantastic. Lovely environment, good placement of the bird in the frame and wonderful colours. Love everything about it, wish it were mine  … Cheers, Hans
