The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This Mimathyma schrenckii, unlike the others today, decided that something on a pine tree was tastier than the smelly stuff on the path. I really can’t decide whether I prefer this butterfly with wings open or closed. I love both. (see previous post for open wings)
Specific Feedback
Cut off too close at the top? I brightened the right-hand edge of the butterfly, but maybe it could do with a bit more of this?
Technical Details
D500 + 105mm macro 1/800 f7.1 ISO 2500 diffused flash
In Lightroom straightened a bit and cropped; Blacks and Whites; adjustment brush to brighten its abdomen. Denoise, then in Photoshop played with tonalities and contrast, final mild sharpening.

Very good, Mike. The angle I mentioned in my comment on your last post did fool me. I had no idea the underside was so gorgeous. I really like the details from this angle and the extended tongue is a nice feature. I could see a touch more canvas on the top or a little less on the bottom to balance this image.
Yes, gorgeous!! I’m with @Dennis_Plank on adding a bit more at the top and/or cropping a bit from the bottom for visual balance. No other nits – lovely critter and light!
Beautiful 'fly, nicely-captured. My only suggestion might be to use a bit of shadow control to slightly lighten the dark crevasses of the tree.
Fine work!
Mike: Beautiful critter on this view and I think your rework makes the image considerably stronger. Really nice management of your plane of focus at this f-stop. >=))>
