Ron. This scene, although likely a quiet forest, doesn’t present itself that way.
I know trees can lean but without any other landmarks to define the vertical or horizontal plane, I believe the depiction is a bit intense. I also feel the image overall is too dark and contrasty making it foreboding. I attached a screenshot copy of your image with the aforementioned alterations incorporated.
Thank you @Bob_Faucher for your comments. Yes, there is very little from which to gain a context ( a couple of little trees on the right). I went with what I was seeing on the trail, including the overall tonality, but I see your point(s).
