Snow in Ponderosas

It’s always fun to have some snow to shoot. It was snowing lightly when I took the photo. The sun would break through a little from time to time. A beautiful day to be in the Deschutes National Forest.

Very good, Chris. I like the open avenue you found that leads the eye into the frame.

Thanks for your feedback, Dennis.

Chris, the warm browns of the trunks stands in a fine contrast to the white snow. The depth and fading of the trunks in the distance add a great 3D sense that invites the viewer to walk deeper into these woods.

Love, love this. The warm color from the trunks really make the image alive, Chris. I love finding that funky tree just a little to the right of the center line.

This is lovely, Chris. I like the spacing of the trees, and the two at the edges create a nice border, with just the right amount of tree shown. The color palette is nice, and I love how the trees fade in the background.

That’s exactly how I felt when I was photographing it.

Thank you for your comments. I like that you noticed the funky tree.

Beautiful photo! I am always impressed by good compositions taken in forests with so much chaos. Well done.
