This was a wonderful day trip to the Deschutes National Forest in the winter. I like the fragility of the Aspen tree juxtaposed against the strong, stalwart Ponderosa trees.

Well, this is an interesting juxtaposition of color, shape and texture between these two species of trees. I live back east where we have no Ponderosas, but I’ve loved encountering them on my trips out west. The texture and color of their bark has so much character. I also think the color combination of white and red/brown is very appealing. i like the centered composition too.
My only suggestion is that this appears a bit bright on my monitor. I brought it into a levels adjustment layer in photoshop and pulled back the white output level, and thought it helped. I would try going back to the raw file and pulling back whites and highlights to do this in raw if you can.
