Nice catch for both you and the GBH, and good look at the fish…
We were there in April!
The reflections are a bit distracting; I wonder if they could be toned down a bit

Very nice, Ed. I like the pose of the heron and the angle of the fish. I see what Sandy means about the bright reflections. I tried cropping a fair amount and it helped a bit, but didn’t work as well as I’d hoped. I also tried adding a little color to the bright reflections, but that didn’t work either. Still an excellent image of a heron catching lunch.

Nice sharp look at the heron and you have the fish looking at you. I like the environment as well. You might try decreasing the highlights and perhaps darkening the background a bit to make the heron pop even more.

Thanks everyone for your comments and recommendations on this one. I’ve made some edits that I think may help to a degree.

Nice improvement!

Hi Ed, the closer rework is a definite improvement. Nice to see the eyes of both bird and fish. A good behavioral image.
