A showy mini crocus from my yard when we finally had some sun to open them up.

Technical Details

Canon EOS R50, RF-S18-150mm @150mm, ISO 200, f/20, 1/80s, HH. Post processing included adjustments to exposure, sharpening, and a slight crop.

Jim, this does a fine job of saying warm, sunny, early spring day. I like that you’ve included surroundings, but think that burning-in the brightest parts would probably improve the view.

@Mark_Seaver, thank you for your helpful comments, I’ll give that a try.

Jim: We don’t have crocus in our sub-tropical climate so I always love seeing images of them as heralds of Spring. I’m with @Mark_Seaver regarding the BG but I took it a step further and applied a vignette and then selected the BG in ACR and darkened it almost all the way. Back to you. >=))>

Hi @Bill_Fach, I like your improvements, really makes the colors pop and the BG less distracting.

A nice, vibrant close-up looks pretty good. I agree in that darkening and taming those bright sunlit spots in the BG will improve the comp. Well done…Jim

Thanks @Jim_Zablotny, I do like @Bill_Fach 's edit. I did reduce the highlights which helped some, but the BG certainly wasn’t adding anything so darker was best.
