Springtime on Dunraven

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This was from the trailhead to Mount Washburn at the end of Chittenden Road in Yellowstone NP. The weather was building up to a nice rainstorm the next morning. Everything was green for miles around, with a few wildflowers peeking up here and there.

Specific Feedback

I thought about removing the lone rock along the left side of the frame, but didn’t feel it intruded too much and may even help maintain the circular line from the snow covered mountain transitioning to the ridge coming down.

Technical Details

Canon 5DMiii, f16, 1/40 sec, iso 200, -1EV, 24-105 lens at 35 mm

I love this - I am a sucker for mountain scenes!

I am not very good as this, but I think the rock and flowers in the foreground help add a little depth. It separates the immediate foreground from the green grasses behind it.

Thank you very much @elizabeth. I appreciate your review and your comments.

Beautiful capture, Ed. I see what you mean about the lone rock. While it is an eye magnet, it’s not really objectionable. Still, I would have probably removed it just so it couldn’t be a possible issue. Lovely view of the vista!

Thank you @Bill_Chambers. I appreciate your comments.
