Stealth Escorts

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

While photographing Sandhill cranes a flock of blackbirds flew in and out of the view. I didn’t notice their appearance in this photo until processing. The shape of the blackbirds reminds me of stealth fighters escorting bombers.

Very nice catch Jim with all three cranes sharp. Good job. The addition of the blackbirds provides another point of interest. I could see perhaps trying a crop from the bottom and see what you think. Intriguing image.

Interesting and rather unique image, Jim. Good look at the cranes and you can see the epaulets on the blackbirds. I wonder of the blackbirds were harassing the cranes?

Thank you. They did not appear to be harassing the Cranes.

Thank you. Your suggested crop works.

This is way cool, Jim. An interesting coincidence to get the two together like this and it works very well. Every once in awhile a large bird gets too close to a small one with the most innocent of intentions and gets a good balling out, but I’m not seeing any of that in this image.

Dennis, There was no indication of any harassment. I did, however, recently observe a crow harassing a bald eagle. After the eagle had had enough it turned on the crow, and the last I saw of them the eagle hot on the crow as they disappeared over a ridge.
