Chris, the three bands of color look great going from cool to warm. Those main colors complement well the subtle changes and all of the short horizontal streaks.

The only thing giving this away as bark is the shadows in the ULC where the bark is lifting slightly. Otherwise, I would have no idea this is really bark. I like the purple/grey tones along the bottom and the gold tones up high. I might crop a little bit off the top to give the same weight as the bottom section of maybe flip the image 180 degrees and have the gold on the bottom. Just a thought. Love the repeating patterns on this.
