Description

While working in CA, I decided to drive instead of fly to my next job in NM. I had never been to Death Valley before, I spent the night at Stovepipe and got up very early before sunrise.
The image brings back many happy memories.

Hi Steve,
It looks like you had a lot of fun playing with light and shadow. I appreciate the different levels of luminance in this image. The “spotlight” leads you to the brightest section. This is a very tactile image. I can almost taste the sand in my teeth and the warmth of the rising sun. Bravo.

I absolutely love the light in this image Steve. Wonderful soft warm glow throughout. Good job getting up before the sun to capture this.
