Canon EOS 5D II; Canon EF 28-70mm @ 47mm; f/16 @ 2 sec, ISO 100; Gitzo tripod, RRS BH 55, remote trigger.

Vivid colour, dramatic, the contrast between the foreground rocks and the sky really boost the image. I do think a pano crop (lose some of the sky at top) would work better.

Thank you @Mark_Orchard for your considerations. I have explored converting to a panoramic format and found balance between the foreground and the sky then feels a bit unstable, too heavy on the right. “Scroll crop” and see if you agree. The lighter area above the right hand side clouds tends to lift the right side of the image up.

Thank you @Mark_Orchard. I applaud your perseverance. You may be correct. MHO is the diagonal dark clouds from the UL, terminating where the lightning strike is with the darker wide stripe of foreground just seems make the image feel like it is tipping down to the right, but not when the lighter UR corner is visible.
