In honour of it winning Australian bird of the year 2021. I took this near Walka Water Works in Maitland, Australia on my last visit home in 2019.

Hi Eduard
The blue, black and white coloring, really make the Superb fairywren stand out. To bad it’s standing on a pole.
Thank you for the photograph.

Beautiful bird - must be a treat to see these. Really nice pose you captured here. A tough bird to expose - in the largest view, the whites on the right of the bird look hot and the dark areas lack detail. Still, a real beauty to view.

The little Fairy Wrens are so hard to capture! The blacks are blacker than black and the blue is shiny iridescent. You’ve captured a wonderful background.

It’s a shame the little bird isn’t perched on a photogenic stick, but you can’t always get what you want. As much as I like the background, there could be another version of this image with a bit sliced off the top…or squished down a bit in Photoshop.
