I was hoping to hit this place as the Cypress were beginning to change colors, one of the few trees in my neck of the woods that shows any signs of fall color, but I missed it by two weeks. Still it makes for an interesting pattern of natural elements.

Knowing that I was attempting to make a silk purse from a pig’s ear, do the patterns created naturally, show artistically through my editing?

This is working really well for me. I would clone out the trunk along the left edge toward the bottom and burn the one coming up from the bottom the LLC but minor stuff. This turned out quite nice.

Reworked LLC for burn and cloning.
What great texture from the browning leaves. This is a palette I love - grays and browns. The rework is better; I was going to suggest the same thing.

The maze of bare branches and trunks is set of very well by the golden undergrowth (and remaining cypress needles, Chris. The bits of other color are pleasant surprises.
