Description

This was taken an hour or two after sunrise in the Lamar Valley as the clouds were just starting to break after a nighttime rainstorm.

Specific Feedback

The greens are pretty intense. I lifted the shadows quite a bit in the lower part of the frame. Your suggestions are welcomed.

Ed, the play of light and the varying shades of green in the middle part of the image are what catch my eye. The river anchors it. This is a capture of a beautiful moment of the day. The sky and the lower third of the image are secondary to the main focus of interest for me. I played around with various crops. It almost seems that I might go with a panorama with very little sky and only a portion of the foreground. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing a lovely moment in the day.

Ed,
The light dancing around on those lovely green hills is just wonderful! This is great as is, but I think this is a case of where less is more. My thoughts pretty much echo @Barbara_Djordjevic on the pano crop as I think that will focus more attention on that gorgeous light. Just my opinion of course. Here is what I was thinking. It looks like you came away with some great images on your Yellowstone trip.

Thank you so much @Barbara_Djordjevic and @Ed_Lowe. I love your ideas for this and they make complete sense. Ed, your crop is really nice. I will definitely work on this and repost another version when I get a chance. Thanks, Ed

Great scene and color play, and the pano crop highlights the best areas.
Well-done!

Cool, thank you @SandyR-B. I’ve re-cropped to make it one third above, one third in the middle and one Third below. I can see why @Ed_Lowe cropped it above the sage brush. That is probably the best way to present this one.
