The Road to Nowhere

This too was from my wandering on the tundra near Iqaluit, Nunavut. The $5 cab ride to the end of the Road to Nowhere produced miraculously colorful scenes like this plant in fall color on a large rock with various lichen. I actually had to DE-saturate this image!

Wow, John.
Those colors are amazing. It’s crazy that this is even a desaturated version.

This area seems to be fascinating. I have never heard of it.

Wow, there is so much to see on an otherwise lifeless looking tundra and you seem to have made the most of your visit John. The contrast you’ve recorded is amazing, almost a rainbow of various tones. I like that you’ve given equal space to each colony and the diagonal line separating them fits just right.

What a fascinating range of colors. I like how you have composed this, giving approximately equal weight to the reds and yellows/greens.

Thanks @Jens_Ober , @Jim_Lockhart , and @DeanRoyer for your positive comments. Glad to share this amazing place with you all.
