The Salsa Bird

This Masked Trogon was expertly called in by our young guide in Rio Blanco, Colombia back in 2013. Not long after this, she took a break from whistling and instead taught my wife how to do the salsa. Unforgettable!

Specific Feedback Requested

It looks really soft to me now, but I do like the colours. The RAW file has disappeared long ago - ouch!

Is this a composite: No
D90 + Sigma 150-500mm

I touched up the JPEG with the Topaz twins - as well as cloning out bits of white sky.

Mike, the colors here are quite striking. The greens seem a bit over saturated plus I’m noticing a lack of contrast in the bird’s lower half. It sounds like a great experience, too bad you can’t find the original file to work on.

Thanks @Mark_Seaver . I’ve followed your advice about the greens and the bird’s tail and replaced the original with the newer version.

Nicely improved, Mike.
