Description
My wife and I went to a local Three-day Eventing Horse Trial for a few hours yesterday. 3500+ frames later… The event we spent our time at was Cross-country for the Novice class (novice horses, not necessarily riders). This young lady’s mother happened to be standing with us when her daughter did her run and told us she’d been riding since she was five. She showed it when her horse slipped after going through a water feature when she stayed on, the horse recovered and they completed the course.
While my wife is the horse nut (first words: “I want a pony”), but I find these events enjoyable and every time I come back and look at my images, I start thinking about other ways to shoot this.
Specific Feedback
I removed some flags and tape that delineates spectator areas from the background-is it too noticeable? Anything else that could be improved?
Technical Details
Sony A1, FE 200-600 @ 289 mm, monopod, f/9, 1/3200, iso 3200 (could have come down on the iso by this time, it was an overcast morning). Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to 6920x4704. Lots of distracting stuff removed from the background and the jump in the upper right toned down quite a bit as it was in the sun.
