Hah!! Ducklings are irresistibly cute and I guess that needs to go for Canada Geese as well. I hadn’t realized how much they look like ducklings. You captured a wonderful moment with lovely light and perfect DOF. It seems to be trudging along deep in thought. I like it!!

OMG!! Cuteness overload with this little guy. Everything is just right in this image. The expression is priceless.

I hope he had some siblings and parent close by.

Delightful! Intent expression…

@Diane_Miller, @glennie, and @Sandy_Richards-Brown Thank you for the kind comments. Much appreciated.

Diane, these little ones look cute for about 2 weeks then they enter that awkward teenage phase and aren’t really photogenic anymore.

Glennie, Mom, Dad, and the brothers and sisters were all nearby. It was fun trying to isolate one of them.

Thanks again.

Ok, well this is just weird. I’m about 1/2 way through the Uncut version of The Stand right now and, well, this is NOT how I picture Randall Flagg.

Anyway…excellent vantage point being so low with this young one. Those feet! That floof! Excellent focus right where it needs to be. They grow up so fast.

This is really cool, David. I love the pose and the low angle. I do wish it had raised its head just a trifle for better eye contact, but it’s still a fine image and the implication of a duckling taking on the world with that attitude is just priceless.

Excellent detail and light, David. Love that intense look. Good job getting low for the shot.

@Kris_Smith, @Dennis_Plank, and @Allen_Brooks thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.

Kris, I wondered if anyone would get the reference. Too funny that you’re reading The Stand right now.
It’s one of my favorite books; I think I’ve read it at least a dozen times since it came out all those years ago.

Cheers,
David

You may have hit on the story here, @Kris_Smith! This little guy could be halfway through it and contemplating the message?

Your low perspective is one thing, but the beautiful lighting is another thing, and catching this little guy’s expression is the piece de resistance!

@Mark_Muller thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate them.

Cheers,
David
