Tidal Action

Earlier this week, I was sitting on the beach at the tide flats waiting for the birds to come in with the tide and this Least Sandpiper was my first customer. They’re tiny little things (~ 3" tall) but it landed quite close to me so I was able to get a decent shot. I didn’t even have to crop the photo!

Gary, there’s nothing more fun than sitting quietly waiting for some action and then having it happen. The details in the bird with it’s raised wings is great. I also like the rippled water around it’s feet and the surroundings.
