Tide Flat Symmetry

This is a very old panorama taken at the tide flats on the North side of Port Valdez & looking toward the mountains on the South side of the bay. The tide was high and the water in the foreground is a tidal pool that turns into mud flats when the tide goes out. It was a very calm day and at ebb tide so there was almost no water movement. I caught a seagull in one of the frames as I shot the panorama. I think it added a tiny bit of life to the scene.

Technical Details

Sony DSC-R1 - multiple vertical photos stitched. Unfortunately the stitching software I was using back then didn’t save the EXIF data so I don’t have the settings without going back to my very old backup files for the individual images.

Wonderful!! And extra lovely to get the reflection across such a wide angle. I think the compositional balance with the “big sky” works very well.

I love the reflected symmetry and the panoramic view of your photo. I agree with @Diane_Miller, the “big sky” balances nicely with the mountains and water.

Super image love everything about - makes me want to be there.
