Description
I haven’t posted for awhile, not for lack of subjects but for the plethora of them! Our garden is bursting into life and I’ve spent so much time capturing and downloading photos that I’ve had little time for processing. I saw this pretty pair this morning and thought them very worthy subjects. I wanted to try to stack but the wind would not cooperate so there are some focusing compromises. I chose this frame because the little party crasher was clean and sharp. >=))>
Specific Feedback
Is our expectations from stacking making partial focus images less pleasing? I still very much enjoy single capture and its challenges and decision making. Your thoughts?

Bill, excellent! I love the jaunty angle of blooms and leaves. Might be tempted to remove the brighter leaf part in the LLC. Yes, the droplets - in focus - add a lot to this.
Wonderful – gorgeous subject and just the right BG!! And a great title! I think it would be good to prune the OOF leaf (?) just above the center and darken the leaf in the LL corner. Still too early even for buds here, so you have me drooling.
Bill, I would love a few hours in your garden if I didn’t have to travel to TX for that opportunity. I love this shot and the title is perfect. I am still a single shot person. Maybe one day I will get into trying stacking. Right now I am doing good to get out and shoot any never mind stacking. I am hoping to go down to Huntington Beach State Park at Murrells Inlet, SC Tuesday. My nephew is going to ride down with me just for company. He’s not into photography…yet.
Bill, this is excellent. It makes a fine single shot view, with the flower nice and sharp and the bud just slightly soft. Your “friend” is a fun extra. Yes, stacking is how we humans “see”, constantly changing focus and adjusting for brightness. That does make single shot views more artistic due to the choices that the photog has to make in taking the photo.
