I was watching one of these guys excavating a nest and trying to get a clear window thru the forest without any distracting elements when I noticed that another Barbet flew out into the open and onto this perch.

I could see a bit looser crop with this, the colors are so nice and the POV is steep enough that a looser crop would lower it if you have it.
Perch is large but interesting and you are getting nice eye contact.
Chuck, this is a great look at this species, especially with the view of some of the colorful plumage on the underside. I like the pose, perch and background.
Though I don’t mind the placement of the bird in the upper third, it almost feels a bit tight at the top, perhaps what Dan was alluding to. I think this could be alleviated with either a looser crop up top or cropping a bit more off the bottom, to balance the surrounding space a bit.
