The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I was in Arizona’s San Francisco Peaks at about 11,500 feet. The vegetation type is “arctic tundra.” There’s not much there besides scree and twisted, stunted tree limbs. I kept looking for the composition that would capture the feel of the place and never really found it. A short series is as close as I can get,

I like it! I like particularly #1 and #3. I think #3 should be a darker overall image to accentuate the branch. I thought #1 would look better as a b&w to accentuate the tonal values. What do you think? Actually, the shadows should be still darker perhaps.
Hi Don, Interesting collection indeed!
I like the first image straight away. Image two is appealing, but I don’t think the soft light is bringing out the soft colors as you might like. Working to bring out the tones you are looking for with some HSL correction might help. Or perhaps both of these could be made stronger converted to B&W?
The last one is more of a challenge. I’m a strong believer in the integrity of the photographers initial instincts and I like complicated images, but I’m finding it difficult to get a flow or inherent movement through the image. Perhaps this too would be helped by B&W and some burning and dodging to clarify the flow you intended for it?
Interesting series. I like the first photo the best. It has interesting tones and textures. I like it in color, but the B&W suggestion is not bad either. The second photo is interesting as well, but the ULC corner seems to steal the interest away from the twisted limbs and the pink stone. Perhaps a crop might help by removing the ULC. Not so wild about the last photo.
Igor, Guy, Youssef, thanks for the comments. On the first one, I vacillated between color and black and white. It could go either way. I like Igor’s revision.
I’ll rethink the other two. Appreciate the feedback!
