Findhorn, Moray, Scotland
Moody blue light hung over the Findhorn beach in the direction of Inverness shortly after the sun had set and the rich velvet blue colour stayed for a considerable time. Eventually a few puffs of low cloud drifted like a faded daisy chain through the sky above the snoozing seals and the cormorant post creating a very simple and engaging composition in silver and blue

Beautiful, Ian. The image does have a rich quality to it and I love the abstract feel. Must admit though, the pole keeps drawing my eyes to it. . .did you want to include the pole? Very nicely seen and captured.
What a fine example of the success of an artist waiting for the beautiful moment. Perfect example of a really BLUE hour. I very much appreciate the subtle shades of blue in the distant hills and lower clouds.
I tried the attached crop to get at three things: To move the pole off dead center, To remove some of the top sky thereby emphazise your daisy chain cloud, and To trim a bit of the black mass in the foreground.
