Project Description

I am aware that this project doesn’t follow all the rules required for a good photographic project. It was not thought out and prepared before shooting the photos but I think that it is a real project in my mind as in the last two years I visited often this location with the purpose to show how the Val d’Orcia, in Tuscany near Siena, radically changes its appearance.
I have posted two photos for each season.

Self Critique

I am happy to have shown the beauties of this splendid valley I hope.
I regret not having taken care of all aspects of a photogrphic project in particular the aspect ratio same for all the images but I hope they aren’t too different.

Creative Direction

May purpose is to capture the beauties of the nature how its appeares to our eyes in its most beautiful dress often at dawn and sunset. The birth and death of the sun is always an emotion.

Specific Feedback

Can you sense some emotion in these images?

@Giuseppe_Guadagno, What a brilliant set of images you have shared with us! The project does a wonderful job of presenting your connection to the land as it sweeps through the seasons. If shown as prints the slight aspect ratios might possibly be cause objection ( not a serious one anyway) but in this context it is not noticeable and is certainly not objectionable. Thank you for transporting me with this lovely experience, my day is richer because of it.

I think this is a really n ice project Gigi. I really like the mixtures of light and dark, misty and crisply clear, empty fields and growing crops. What is consistent throughout is the ridgelines and rolling hills, and in most the wonderful homes of farmers. Taking us through the seasons provides a pastoral sense of peacefulness that will continue to provide for generations.
