Warbling White Eye

Imported from Japan to Hawaii. Lives in the bushes and very shy. Hangs out in early morning before the sun hits the bushes. Mark, you beat me to it with the Starlings…

Is this a composite: No

So yes, there is a little noise in the plumage and a tad oversharp, but this is really pushing it for this camera at this high iso at this much of a crop.

Nice job, David. There are way too many avian invasives in Hawaii, and this is certainly one of the more common ones. Nicely photographed, particularly for such a large crop.

Really nice, David. Colors are pleasing and nice detail in the bird.

David, the pose and surroundings look very good. The noise also looks well controlled and that white eye ring really stands out.

Islands are especially vulnerable to transplanted life forms. As cute as this one is, I’d sad about it. Good pose and feeling to this image - I can tell the bird is busy and I like the energy that brings.
