Hey Mario,
I really love the layers you’ve created with this shot and the long exposure on the waterfall is really nice ![]()
Overall I think the image needs to go a little darker in order to help bring out the idea of those layers and help lead the eye through the frame
I did a quick little edit which I think helps that
I did the following all in camera raw:
Hopefully, this helps & Merry Christmas!
Cheers,
Dale
Mario, I think the composition works well. You did a good job of organizing the chaos, and creating a good foreground, I also like the amount of space you left above the falls, it create some breathing room.
I agree with @dalegphoto suggestions, and think his rework directs the viewers eye better. Viewers are attracted to the brightest parts of an image, and in the original post there are too many bright places to look. Dale’s sculpting of light creates more emphasis on the moss and the falls. Sometimes the best way to emphasize a highlight (moss & waterfall) is to darken the area around it.
I would suggest two further tweaks to Dales rework. I would gently dodge the red leaves in the center. and I would warm up the whole image, to remove the blue cast in the water, and to add some vitality to the foreground. Here is a rework that starts from Dales rework.
Very Helpful. I thought maybe I had overdone the exposure. Ireally like the vignette in the center.
Thank you.
Ed Thank You. The final image does direct the eye towards the falls better and simplifies the foreground.
