Waving limbs

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was photographing creosote bushes, which are homely from a distance but interesting up close, and I decided to try some camera movement.

Specific Feedback

Is it interesting?

Processing consisted of tonal tweaks. I had a hard time getting this one into balance and I may not have entirely succeeded.

Technical Details

ISO 100, 155mm, f/40, 1/4 sec.

This is really cool, Don. I like it a lot. There are a couple of substantial branches on the lower left that didn’t get the message to dress up for the shoot and you might want to crop to remove those contrary critters. I really like the predominantly gold look to the image. Excellent work.

Don, this one is very dramatic to many camera movement scenes. It almost makes me wobble or wanting to hold on to something here…well done.

Dennis, Paul, thanks.

Paul, it kind of looks like the camera had been drinking.

Dennis, I think you’re right about the crop, if I understand which branches you meant. Here’s an attempt at a fix.

Again, I appreciate the feedback.

That does it for my taste, Don.

The overall branch structure is so nice, and so cool that the size of the “squiggles” matches the size of the branches! The gold/brown against blue/gray is wonderful!! No suggestions except keep this one near the top of your collection!

Thanks, Diane. I’ll keep this one with the other odd ones.
